his last season

After 24 years at the helm of the GWU varsity soccer team, Head Coach George Lidster announced that he would retire following the conclusion of the 2011 season. He lifted the program to new heights, including two conference championships and three appearances in the NCAA tournament. During his final home game, a goal in the 72nd minute secured Lidster his 200th career victory with the team. The 1-0 win over Duquesne designated the team as the Atlantic 10 conference season co-champions and assured them a #2 seed in the upcoming conference tournament.

He is the most winning coach in the university’s history.
